Love of Life 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer - IRMC Healthcare Foundation

Love of Life walk/run supports local breast cancer services at Indiana Regional Medical Center  Women's Imaging Center.

Registration: Register online at runsignup.com

RACE DETAILS:  Starting at 8th St. and Philadelphia St., heading south to Indiana Regional Medical Center.  Returning through Mack Park to town to the finish line. Race is a moderate run. Course is mostly flat with gentle inclines and two moderate hills. Route will be clearly marked with street arrows, signs, volunteers, and police. Water stations at the 7th St. loop entrance and exit to Mack Park.

Spirit Award: Given to the individual or group that demonstrates an overall unifying theme promoting breast cancer awareness in their race day attire.

Largest Team Award:  Given to the team with the most registered participants for the LOL 5k;  to qualify, each member must include the team name on his or her registration form prior to the start of the race; day of registrants are responsible for notifying the worker at registration about his or her team affiliation. 

Please see a LOL worker at registration pick up or on race day to sign up for consideration for the T-Shirt and/or Spirit Award.  You can enter one or both.  

T-Shirt Award: Given to the individual or group with the most creative t-shirt design promoting breast cancer awareness. 


Packet Pick-Up and Pre-Registration: available Friday, 10/19 from 4-6 pm in Private Dining Room 2 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Enter the building near the Women’s Imaging Center and follow signs.

Disco Inferno: Saturday Night Fever at the Museum - IUP

Save the date! The IUP Museum’s annual fundraising gala is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Celebrate the 70s when Disco was King and Donna Summer was Queen. Dust off your platform shoes and polyester suits. It's time to Shake Your Groove Thing - to Get Up and Boogie. After Working Day and Night You Should be Dancing to the funky beat of the Blue Room's Funky Town. So put on your Boogie Shoes and Hustle on down to the Disco Inferno: Saturday Night Fever at the Museum.

The University Museum brings the material history and arts of the region together in an environment that encourages exploration, dialogue, and enjoyment. The University Museum never charges admission to its exhibits and educational events, and survives solely on gifts and grants, plus proceeds from the annual gala. Gala funds provide needed support for the Museum’s ongoing art restoration projects, community outreach efforts, and educational directives.

Disco Inferno will begin at 6:00 p.m. and includes a reception in the University Museum, followed by dining, entertainment, and auctions in the Blue Room, Sutton Hall.

Evening in the Stacks - Indiana Free Library

Come to Evening in the Stacks, Friday, October 25, at the library. Cost is $40 per person or $75 per couple, and they have room for just 250 people. Wine Walk - Downtown Indiana

The Wine Walk is the kick-off to the Downtown Indiana shopping season. The 2019 Wine Walk features regional wineries paired with downtown retailers. Guests enjoy wine samples & light hors d'oeuvres at each stop.The Wine Walk is also a fundraiser for Downtown Indiana, benefiting promotion and beautification of the downtown business district. Each attendee will receive a complimentary stemless wine glass courtesy of First Commonwealth Bank and be entered in our wine basket raffle. InFirst Bank Veteran's Marathon, Half Marathon & Marathon Relay - IRRC

The 9th Annual InFirst Bank Veteran’s Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Marathon Relay registration is now open!  For the ninth year, they are happy to welcome runners to the beautiful Ghost Town Trail in Blacklick, PA.  Come and join us on Sunday, November 3, 2019, to run a fast, relatively flat out-and-back course that features the best of Pennsylvania’s fall scenery, awesome aid stations, and other great amenities.  At the same time, you will be helping to support area veterans– all of race proceeds go to the Western Pennsylvania Veteran’s Relief Fund, a 501C3 that provides financial assistance to veterans in need.  Over the past eight years, more than $110,000 has been raised for area veterans.  We appreciate the support of all the runners and sponsors who have helped to make the raise and their mission a success.

As they have done for the past eight years, runners can register for any race for the low prices of just $26.20 up until July 1st!  The race fees covers your entry to the race, food and support before, during, and after the race, and an awesome finisher’s medal!  They also have race swag available for purchase so that you can show off your amazing accomplishment.  We hope to see you there on November 3rd!
