About Us About Us

The Open Door (TOD), from its inception in 1972 as a United Ministry Volunteer Task Force, has offered crisis intervention services. Since that time, we have grown into a licensed outpatient facility providing a variety of services including Alcohol and Other Drug Screening, Assessment, Education, and Treatment; Crisis Intervention Services; and DUI Evaluation. In 1996, an affiliation agreement with Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) was established to increase access to services. In 2003, our in-house buprenorphine program was started to assist those specifically struggling with opiate addiction. In 2012, TOD partnered with Armstrong-Indiana Behavioral & Developmental Health Program (BHP) to provide telephone and walk-in crisis services, adding mobile crisis services in 2015.

The Open Door staff is comprised of a drug and alcohol treatment and mental health crisis intervention team, trained DUI evaluators and educators, and has administrative and fiscal staff that support the agency in providing these services to the community.

The agency is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs for Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Treatment Services; and by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for Crisis Intervention Services.
